Overview
This course is a comprehensive academic and practical study of basic Barbering skills. It will give you the basic skills you need for many career paths including media make-up artist. On completion of this course successful students will be awarded a professional certificate and advice on obtaining insurance in order to perform on paying clients.
This course is offered as:
- An intensive course, which is 16 weeks allowing students to study one day a week plus final exam on completion of course work.
- A 32 week evening course allowing students to study 1 evenings a week plus final exam.

Entry requirements
GCSE in Maths and English are advisable.
Your course includes:
- The academic and practical study of Hair and scalp analysis.
- Health, safety and Hygiene.
- Related anatomy and physiology.
- You will learn the importance of recognizing contraindications to a therapy.
- Preparation of the work area consultation, record keeping and medical referral.
- Shampoo and condition hair.
- Cutting.
- Styling.
- Basic colouring.
- Drying techniques.
- Facial Hair shaping and grooming.
- Our excellent facilities will give you the best examples of how to conduct an exceptional hair treatment.
- You will be given a full course folder included in this course to refer to as you practice at home.
- Salon days at the Aqua Rosa Studio will provide continued assessments.
- You will receive a professional certificate which will allow you to acquire insurance and perform this therapy on paying clients.
